Where we are. |
Both “Old Eastfield Barn” and the “Shippon at Eastfield” are ideally situated in the heart of “Ruby Country” in the guiet North Devon village of Sheepwash, which sits on the river Torridge where Henry Williamson was inspired to write “Tarka the Otter”. Its end of village location with off road parking makes it a perfect starting point for those who want to leave the car, take the picnic hamper and go walking, cycling or fishing. Alternatively the beautiful North Devon and Cornwall coastline is only half an hours drive away. |
FISHING: Salmon, trout and course fishing can be arranged locally on the river or lakes.
GOLF: Courses can be booked at Bude, Okehampton and Holsworthy.
HORSE RIDING: Treks across Dartmoor can be organised.
WALKING AND CYCLING: The “Tarka” and “Ruby Trail” offer good cycle routes, lovely walks and great bird watching.
EATING OUT: The Half Moon in the village square, The Golden Inn at Highampton and the Torridge in Black Torrington offer evening meals and snacks at lunchtime. There are many good eating pubs and restaurants in the area.
